God’s people are doubly his children, they are his offspring by creation, and they are his sons by adoption in Christ. Hence they are privileged to call him, “Our Father which art in heaven.” Father! In Matthew 26:43-44, again Jesus came and found Peter, James, and John sleeping, for their eyes were heavy. He left them again, and went away and prayed a third time, saying the same thing, “My Father, if this cannot pass away unless I drink it, Your will be done,” once more.
