Read John 20: 19 – 31.
When Jesus appeared in the room with the disciples … His first greeting … “Peace”. We see that repeated 3 times: verses 19 and 21 and then in verse 26 when Jesus came to them a second time when Thomas was also present. Jesus knew “peace” was their greatest need. The had locked themselves away because they were afraid of the authorities. In Matthew 28:3, the angel’s appearance was like lightning, and his clothing as white as snow.
When it came to raising Jesus from the dead, God did not disguise His created angels who faithfully do His work. I’m sure the angel who was commissioned to roll away the stone from the tomb of Jesus took great pride and pleasure in doing so. He shined in the full light of His glory God had given Him. We have come to the end of our journey through the gospel of John. And I can close where I began … I love this book! For me, it paints the most beautiful picture of Jesus, Messiah … my Lord and my God.
I love to see again His compassion on people in pain. It genuinely cares about the hurting and the suffering that exist in this old fallen world. And it reminds me that He has that same compassion toward me … in the places of hurt … in the inflicted wounds which I suffer. I find comfort there. More >
What must be the apostate professor’s doom when his naked soul appears before God?
