Jesus, our Lord, once crucified, dead and buried, now sits upon the throne of glory. The highest place that heaven affords is his by undisputed right. It is sweet to remember that the exaltation of Christ in heaven is a representative exaltation. He is exalted at the Father’s right hand, and though as Jehovah he had eminent glories, in which finite creatures cannot share, yet as the Mediator, the honours which Jesus wears in heaven are the heritage of all the saints. God’s Justice
In Matthew 22:7, Jesus gives the reaction of the king to the killing of His servants saying, “But when the king heard about it, he was furious. And he sent out his armies, destroyed those murderers, and burned up their city.”
It amazes me how many people “love the God of the New Testament.” However, the coming judgment is talked about by Jesus Christ more than anyone else in the New Testament. Upon some points a believer is absolutely sure. He knows, for instance, that God sits in the stern-sheets of the vessel when it rocks most. He believes that an invisible hand is always on the world’s tiller, and that wherever providence may drift, Jehovah steers it. That re-assuring knowledge prepares him for everything.
