In Matthew 24:46, Jesus says, “Blessed is that slave whom his master finds so doing when he comes.”

If you have children, I’m sure you take pride and joy when coming home to find your children’s homework and chores completed. It is a great feeling to come home to see what is expected to be done actually done. When I was young, I knew my mom always would get home from work at five so around 4:50pm I would do everything she told me to do. However, if my dad was not already home, I wasn’t sure what time he would actually get home. It is hard to do all your homework and chores ten minutes before he gets home if you are not sure what time he is coming home. Of course, in ten minutes or less, I did a terrible job. It is the same way when expected visitors arrive early and we are not prepared for them. Jesus wants us to always be prepared because He wants His house always in order even when He is not occupying the house. At anytime we can have the knock at the door and we would hate to be found with a messy house. With that being said, I have some cleaning to do myself.
