In Matthew 27:57, when it was evening, there came a rich man from Arimathea, named Joseph, who himself had also become a disciple of Jesus.

It’s amazing how thing can change in a person’s life. Jesus explained how difficult it is for a rich person to enter the kingdom of God. He also said right after that salvation is impossible with man but with God all thing are possible (Matthew 19:23-26). Joseph from Arimathea, who we learn from the other Gospel is member of the council has experience the impossible from God. Joseph is no longer a rich man. He is now a follower of Christ who is rich. As humans, we have created so many labels for ourselves. However, in Galatians 3:27-29, God tears down our self- made labels proclaiming us to all be one in Christ! Many people use the word Christian very loosely. It is losing its meaning. While it is a frightful sight to see, what is truly important is that God knows who are His (2 Timothy 2:19). No matter what the world does to us, we have assurance from God. The rough times came for the followers of Christ and the first person to stand up in the time of adversity was a rich man. It is easy to follow Christ when times are good, but Lord give us the strength to come forward and stand tall when times are bad.
