In Matthew 24:8, Jesus lets us know that the all these events that will take place is just “the beginning of sorrows.”

God has told us everything we need to know. A lot of us get frustrated about the things we don’t know and those things really don’t concern us or affect us in any way. We get so involved in the past and what happened 30 million years ago and it blocks our mind from effectively being able to see, understand, and receive what God is doing right now! We really beat ourselves up over things that are useless to our brains. When Jesus says, “these are the beginning of sorrows,” is He referring to sorrow for the believer or sorrow for the world? I’m lead to believe these sorrows are for the world. Jesus told us in John 10:10, Jesus tells us, “The thief (which would be the world, the flesh, and the devil) does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” A lot of us get so worried and discouraged over our situations whether it is health, finances, mortgage payments, car payments, etc as if God isn’t able to handle them and then we start to complain against God. Of course we will never admit we are complaining against God, but all complaining is against God and God alone. It seems we sometimes tip-toe with one foot in heaven while having one foot solidly planted on earth. This is why we become so sorrowful when we really don’t need to be. God has already taken care of it even if we have not seen it yet. That is the simple definition of faith. No need to sorrow; whatever happens to us, our future has already been decided and it is eternally secure!
