In Matthew 21:39, Jesus continues the parable saying, “So they took him and cast him out of the vineyard and killed him (the son of the land owner).”

People like to dig their own graves deeper and deeper. God has given us many opportunities for us to come back into fellowship with Him. He sent countless servants to ask His people to repent and to start following Him, but they refused. When that didn’t work, He sent His only Son. What did they do with Jesus? They nailed Him to a cross at Calvary. What do we do with Jesus? Do we hang His cross around our neck or do we bow down at His cross in worship of our great and glorious Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. 1 Samuel 15:22 says, “To obey is better than sacrifice, and to heed better than the fat of rams.” God doesn’t need us walking around with fancy Jesus jewelry, but rather to walk around with our eyes totally focused on Him. What a witness we would be to the world if we could just keep our eyes set on Jesus Christ.
